Gambling looks different than it did five years ago
Clients now bet from their phones in seconds, on every game, all season. The same habits show up in options trading, crypto and prediction markets, where the language is investing but the pattern is chasing.
Many clinicians already know addiction well. What they need is the gambling-specific part: how to screen for it, how to protect the money while treatment starts, how to block access, how to involve a partner, and how to take suicide risk seriously in a population where it runs high.
That is what I teach, from cases I see in my own practice.
